Toronto – Cookie Jar, one of the leading independent producers of children’s entertainment and consumer products, continues its worldwide expansion with the opening of an office in South Korea. CJ Lee has been appointed vice president, distribution and will handle television sales and develop licensing programs in South Korea. Lee will report to Hideki Kunugiyama, Managing Director of CPLG Asia/Pacific. Lee will focus on production and development opportunities in South Korea and throughout Asia. Through CPLG, Cookie Jar’s licensing division, Lee will oversee licensing and merchandise programs for a wide range of properties and expand CPLG’s diverse portfolio by sourcing new third-party brands. Lee joins Cookie Jar with an extensive background in production and product development for animated brands. Most recently, Lee served as managing director and consultant for GIMC where he oversaw international co-productions and served as a creative producer. Previously, he held the position of managing director and co-owner of Starburst Animation Company, working with DreamWorks, Disney, Warner Bros. and Scholastic Entertainment on numerous projects including Kim Possible, Lilo & Stitch, Scooby Doo, Maya & Miguel, Iron Man and The Clifford Movie.
