New York/Seoul – HISTORY HD has launched on SK Broadband in Korea, the result of an agreement between AETN International, a division of A&E Television Networks (AETN), and SK Broadband. HISTORY HD broadcasts 100 percent HD content, and is fully languaged in Korean. The channel offers programs that cover a diverse variety of historical genres ranging from ancient to contemporary history, technology to natural history, as well as military history, science, archaeology and pop culture. HISTORY HD features stunning recreations, cutting-edge CGI and powerful storytelling; marquee shows include The Universe, Modern Marvels, and Ice Road Truckers. HISTORY HD is also available in Korea on Korea Telecom’s IPTV platform, Qook TV, and on SkyLife. Programming from HISTORY HD is also available via branded VOD services on all three IPTV platforms in Korea, including Broad&TV by SK Broadband, Qook TV and my LG TV. HISTORY HD has expanded rapidly throughout Asia in the past year, and is available outside of Korea in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines and Japan.
