London – Endemol announced a number of Group level promotions. Chief operating officer Marco Bassetti has been appointed president of Endemol Group, taking on a non-executive advisory role. Bassetti, who is part of the Endemol management board, will continue to work closely with and report to chairman & chief executive officer Ynon Kreiz. In his capacity, Bassetti will be responsible for senior client relationships, lead special projects and help manage the implementation of the company’s growth strategy, including major acquisitions. The management of Endemol’s operating companies around the world will now report directly into Ynon Kreiz who will take on Bassetti’s operational responsibilities. Global head of programming Paul Römer joins the Endemol management board as chief creative officer, reporting to Ynon Kreiz. Römer will continue to lead Endemol’s creative processes and manage the global creative team, the group’s network of creative leaders around the world. In his capacity he is in charge of further expanding and building on Endemol’s porfolio of entertainment properties across all genres including entertainment, reality TV, game shows, comedy and drama. Endemol’s chief commercial officer Tom Toumazis’ role has been broadened to incorporate sports, participation TV, branded entertainment as well as consumer products and marketing. Toumazis will now work closely with Endemol Sport’s joint managing directors, Lawrence Duffy and Gregg Oldfield, as well as global head of marketing and brand partnerships, Paul Johnson and global head of participation TV, Dennis Janzen. This is in addition to Toumazis’ existing responsibilities, which include overseeing Endemol and Southern Star’s merged distribution business, headed up by recently appointed CEO Cathy Payne. The promotions take place with immediate effect.
