Internet service provider iiNet has revealed that it is planning to launch an IPTV service shortly, with introduction in the first half of next year deemed most likely. According to Michael Malone, managing director of iiNet, the company wants to get a box at the right price point that does the basic functions like recording and time shifting and that does integrated IPTV as well. The company claims an 8% share of the Australian broadband market, reporting 215,600 on-network broadband customers and 205,400 off-network customers by the end of June.
