Petaling Jaya – Media Prima Berhad (MPB) and The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad (NSTP) jointly announced effective immediately, the appointment of Dato’ Ahmad bin Abd Talib as the new executive director, news and editorial operations, MPB as well as the executive director, editorial, NSTP. Accordingly, he will also be appointed as a Board member of MPB and NSTP effective 1 July 2009. This appointment forms part of a broader change in both MPB and NSTP editorial operations, which sees Zainul Ariffin Mohammed Isa, the current general manager, NSTP e-Media, being appointed as the new group managing editor, NSTP and Shaharudin Abd Latif, the current general manager, news & current affairs, TV3, being promoted and appointed as the group managing editor, news and current affairs, television networks and radio networks, MPB. Both Zainul Ariffin and Shaharudin Abd Latif will be reporting to Dato’ Ahmad Talib, who will oversee the overall news and editorial operations for MPB and NSTP.
