Singapore – At BroadcastAsia, MOL Media announced its objective to target Non Resident Indians (NRI) in Singapore and Malaysia with their IPTV service, MOL TV beginning in Q3 2009. MOL Media expects to have a revenue turnover of approximately US$2.8 million from the Singapore market alone within the next 36 months. MOL Media aims to provide television-centric services to the NRIs including initially delivering 20 live channels from India; Video-on-Demand and other Web 2.0 community-focused applications – simply with the touch of the television remote control and the set top boxes. MOL Media will be signing with a number of Indian content partners including the Hindi premium channel providers as well as the South Indian channel content providers to cater for a wider range of Indian languages. In parallel, MOL Media has agreements with a number of movie distributors to support its movie-on-demand offerings for MOL TV. There will be an initial combination of Hindi and South Indian content packages.
