Leipzig, Germany/Singapore – From 17-20 September 2009, the third annual GCA Games Convention Asia will be a bustling show of artsy performances and elaborately dressed gaming enthusiasts. On September 20, GCA will host a qualifying round of the Asia Pacific Cosplay Championship 2009, which takes place in Perth, Australia at GO3 (October 1-4). The cosplay competition is open to anyone wearing a costume based on Japanese pop-culture, including Anime, Manga, and Video Games (Console and Computer). Participants are called to walk on stage in character, pose and give a brief interview in character. Prizes will be awarded for the categories of Best Male Costume, Best Female Costume and Best Group Costume (maximum of four per group). Participants need to submit an application, picture of the character to be cosplayed, and any music to accompany the stage visit, at www.gc-asia.sg. All entries must be received until July 31.
