Canadian format distributor Distraction went into liquidation on 24 June 2009. The 12-year old company was best known for formats such as CBC’s The Next Great Leader and Dirty Rotten Cheater which was picked up by the BBC. Chief executive Michel Rodrigue described the Montreal-based outfit as too fragile to resist the economic downturn.
