Singapore – Patch Khan has stepped down as vice president of network operations at Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, 5 June was his last day at the network. Khan was appointed to that VP role in June 2005, managing all aspects of programme log production, commercial operations, and the language customization/tape tracking departments – reporting to Tom Keaveny, executive vice president & managing director, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. Khan has held senior management positions at Chrysalis TV (MTV Europe, London), TNT & Cartoon Network (London, Hong Kong, South-East Asia and Australia), SONY Pictures Entertainment (Singapore, Taiwan, India and the United Kingdom) and Showtime, a pay TV platform for the Middle East. He joined Discovery from the Australian Caption Centre in Sydney where he served as director of technical services. Vikram Channa, meanwhile, assumes the role of vice president, programming – India, continuing as head of production, Asia Pacific, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNAP). As VP of programming, India, Channa will be responsible for managing and directing all aspects of programming for the network across India, from programme sourcing and scheduling to formulation of strategy to implementation. He will oversee the India programming team while working closely with other departments such as marketing and advertising sales to maximise opportunities in line with the company’s business. As head of production, Asia Pacific, Channa will continue to advise DNAP’s country heads and provide editorial direction on matters pertaining to local and regional productions. He will be based out of DNAP’s New Delhi office.
