Korean telco KT has launched a new brand for its residential services, such as landline telephony, internet and IPTV called ‘QOOK’. The new brand name will now prefix all residential services provided by the telco. To mark the launch of the new brand, the company will waive one month’s fees for new subscribers to its internet and landline services, and offer a two-month free trial to new subscribers of its IPTV services. KT is also planning to introduce free calls between its internet telephony service users, as part of efforts to increase the number of QOOK internet telephony subscribers to 2mn by the end of this year. KT is currently thought to be on around 800,000 subscribers for its IPTV service, Mega TV, having recently launched linear channels on the service.
