Mumbai – Hathway, digital cable provider in India has launched its Digital Box PLUS DVR solution, based on NDS XTV DVR technology. The NDS XTV DVR solution enables Hathway subscribers to record one television channel while viewing another one. Subscribers can now pause, record, play back, rewind and fast forward recorded content for viewing when they choose. Hathway has a history of firsts in the Indian cable TV market. It was the first cable operator to move to digital, the first to implement a middleware solution and customised electronic program guide (EPG), and is now the first to launch a DVR solution. Commenting on the XTV DVR launch, Sue Taylor, NDS senior VP and general manager Asia Pacific said, “This is the first step towards a fully converged service that will offer broadband TV and a suite of next generation solutions to Indian viewers.”
