CASBAA, Hong Kong – Backed by Lionsgate Entertainment, new company Tiger Gate Entertainment has two new channels, Kix and Thrill, for Asian audiences. Asian action channel Kix, and suspense, thriller, horror channel Thrill, will both leverage the Lionsgate library as well as airing some acquired programming. Former head of Celestial Pictures William Pfeiffer said that the channels have been a long held ambition, stemming back seven years to his time with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Now Tiger Gate Entertainment chief executive officer, Pfeiffer will manage the new channels and some production in the region is anticipated. Former STAR executive Jeremy Hall Smith also joins Tiger Gate in a business development capacity.
