Mumbai – Star Group’s SGL Entertainment has issued notice to Balaji Telefilms for termination of sourcing content and telecasting of top-rated weekly serials Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (KSBKBT) which airs on Star Plus. A letter posted on the Bombay Stock Exchange states that the termination of sourcing content and telecasting of the programme will come into effect from November 10, 2008. Reports say, however, that Balaji has stated it is of the view that the termination is in breach of contractual obligations owned by the Star Group to the company (Balaji Telefilms) and is pursuing all legal remedies available to it in relation to the same. KSBKBT, is one of six shows presently being produced by Balaji for the Star Group. The company also produces programming for rival GE networks – including two shows for 9X, one for Zee TV and is also producing two shows for launch on NDTV Imagine soon.
