Nick Wrenn, CNN’s managing editor for Europe, Middle East & Africa, has been appointed to the new position of vice president, CNN International Digital Services. Based in Atlanta, Wrenn will report to Tony Maddox, executive vice president and managing director of CNN International. Collectively with the international edition of CNN.com and sites in Arabic, Spanish, Korean and Japanese, CNN International syndicates video, live streaming and video-on-demand to a number of sites including Vingo, YouTube, Daily Motion and Jalipo while also operating CNN Mobile in more than 100 countries. As the leading executive over all of CNN’s digital assets outside of the United States, Wrenn will oversee the editorial direction of these services as well as work with colleagues across CNN.com’s domestic operation and in Turner International to manage the growth of the business through the development of new products and services. These include CNN.com/international and the CNN international mobile brand together with numerous broadband services. This new appointment comes as CNN continues to invest in content generation and ownership through an increase in newsgathering operations in both the United States and internationally.
