Los Angeles – Child development channel BabyFirst has finalized a carriage agreement with SingTel to launch in Singapore on SingTel’s digital pay TV service mio TV. BabyFirst will air on mio TV channel 25. “We are delighted to have BabyFirst join mio TV and provide young families across Singapore with its high-quality child development programming. We are confident that BabyFirst will emerge as one of the most sought-after channels by parents who will appreciate the channel’s extraordinary educational content,” said Low Ka Hoe, SingTel’s director of mio TV and content. BabyFirst produces 500 hours of content annually that is tailored to meet the needs of babies in an engaging way. As the channel’s multi-layer content is adaptable to all levels of a baby’s development, each show offers elements that appeal to young babies, as well as older toddlers. BabyFirst TV screens more than 80 different series with more than 4,000 episodes, showcasing segments that run from two to seven minutes each to match the short attention span of its young viewers. On-demand content is fully refreshed every month and there is a dual sound option so parents can choose for the programmes to be in either English or Mandarin. On BabyFirst TV, each program fits into a unique developmental category. Parents are informed about the different categories of content based on a unique colour-coded system that features an on-screen coloured flower for every content segment. Customers can sign up with BabyFirst TV from August 1 2008 at US$4.28 a month or US$3.56 for a 12 month basis.
