Hong Kong – STAR announced the launch of STAR CHINESE MOVIES 2 on July 21 2008 on now TV channel 140 in Hong Kong. Broadcast in both Cantonese and Mandarin, the new channel will feature popular Hong Kong movies from the 1970’s to 1990’s. Jason Siu, general manager, STAR Taiwan, who oversees STAR’s Chinese movie channel operations, said, “We’re excited to be able to bring these magnificent films to movie lovers in Hong Kong, who have already made our flagship Chinese movie channel STAR CHINESE MOVIES the most popular movie channel in the territory.” STAR CHINESE MOVIES 2 will kick off with a Bruce Lee Retrospective, featuring the legend’s masterpieces as a tribute during the 35th anniversary of his untimely death. Other timeless titles to appear on the channel include John Woo and Chow Yun Fat’s A Better Tomorrow series, Jackie Chan’s Police Story series, Jet Li’s Once Upon A Time series, Stephen Chow’s slapstick comedies, and award-winning dramas starring Maggie Cheung and Anita Mui.
