Endemol announced the appointment of Adam Valkin as head of digital media and new business. Valkin takes up the role on September 1 and will be responsible for managing Endemol’s global digital media activities including identifying, acquiring and developing businesses in new growth areas. Valkin spent the last nine years investing in and developing a number of digital media businesses including LOVEFiLM, Propertyfinder, Player X and Blinkbox. He also served as the first CEO of LOVEFiLM and previously worked for barnesandnoble.com in New York and for internet software developer Firefly. Ynon Kreiz, chief executive officer at Endemol comments, “Digital media is core to Endemol’s business and an area where we see very significant opportunities for growth. It is therefore essential that we have someone of Adam’s calibre – with the experience, insight and contacts – to lead Endemol’s global expansion in this space.”
