Beijing – The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad has chosen TV5MONDE Asie to be broadcast over the private Olympic CATV network, due to air from 24 June through 24 September 2008. Under this agreement, TV5MONDE Asie will be available to the thousands of viewers of the Olympic CATV network, athletes and their families, official delegations, sponsors, the press and all accredited personnel on screens at all competition venues, the Olympic village, the delegations’ hotels, the Main Press Centre, the Media villages and the International Broadcasting Centre, as well as the Organizing Committee building. The only channel in French among a dozen other international channels, TV5MONDE Asie will be the exclusive provider of French-speaking general entertainment to the world’s largest event with French as an official language.
