Tokyo/Sydney – The New Media Group, KK (TNMG) owner and operator of the World On-Demand IPTV service has tied up a long term carriage deal with Network18 for IBN7; and a separate content distribution and marketing agreement with Sydney-based IMTV, the Asia-Pacific distributor of Middle Eastern multi-channel packaging company, Orbit. The deal with Network18 will allow TNMG to offer the India-based Hindi news and information channel IBN7 in East Asia and Australia for the first time. Network18 also runs English news and information channel CNN-IBN, a joint venture channel with Time-Warner. The agreement with IMTV will see TNMG offer the IMTV-operated 12 Arabic language cultural and entertainment channels including Al Safwa, Series Channel, Cinema1, Cinema2, Al Yawm and Fann in Australia on the World On-Demand from July 2008. World On-Demand aims to provide the pan-Arab offering to cater to the 150,000 Arabic speaking households Down Under. The TNMG team expects its World On-Demand service to reach 10,000 households within 12 months of operation.
