Sources have confirmed that Li Yifei, executive vice president and managing director of MTV Networks China, is set to leave the company. But rumours that Li’s exit was forced upon her are being played down by the company. “Due to the changing broadcast landscape Yifei is leaving on amicable terms after a very successful ten years with the company,” said MTV Asia senior vice president Ian Stewart. Li, who oversaw all of MTV Networks China’s various carriage platforms, is expected to hand over to her as yet unnamed successor. “A new head for China is being drafted in, from the broadcast arena,” Stewart confirmed.
