Rio de Janeiro – Brazilian distributor Globo TV International has expanded its Asia Pacific presence with content deals signed with Australia’s Dream House Entertainment and Singapore’s StarHub. Globo TV International closed a volume deal with Dream House Entertainment to air over 1,900 hours of telenovelas until 2010 via subscription channel La Telenovela in Australia. Offering programming in Spanish, the channel has allocated three slots to air Globo’s telenovelas, with shows including The Clone, Terra Speranza and Uga Uga to broadcast initially. The Australian deal extends the company’s partnership which already covers North America. Globo TV International sold to StarHub, broadcast rights for the Indonesian dubbed version of telenovela The Clone to air in June 2008 on Sensasi, StarHub’s inhouse-packaged channel catering to Indonesians and Malays in Singapore.
