Endemol International announced that the Middle East has picked up its latest global blockbuster, Wipeout. A leading network in the region has commissioned a Middle Eastern version of the show and a first series is due to launch later this year. Details of scheduling and which broadcaster has taken the format remain confidential until an announcement has been made by the network itself. The series will be produced by Endemol Middle East at the newly built international set for Wipeout in Argentina – the world’s largest TV obstacle course. The location is also home to all the other local versions of the format apart from the American edition, which is being produced in the USA and launches this month. Further territories are expected to be revealed shortly. Ziad Kebbi, Managing Director of Endemol Middle East comments: “I’m very excited about Wipeout joining the ensemble of Endemol shows we’re launching in the Middle East for the first time this year. This is a thrilling and fun filled format and I think audiences here are going to love every minute of it.”
