Montreal – Distraction has unveiled one scripted and two primetime entertainment formats for MIPTV 2008. Distraction will offer scripted comedy Miss Meteo follows a 40-year old weather girl, Myriam, in a series of professional and life changes, and follows from the film franchise. Jack of All Trades is a reality format that pits tradesmen against each other in various profession-based practical tests, and was renewed for a third season on Australia’s Nine Network. Rock the Star is a large scale variety program featuring three celebrities in a singing competition. Contestants receive training from a team of experts and a pop star who also serves as duet partner and mentor. Viewers vote online for the celebrity to enter the finale. Audiences also stand the chance to go on stage for a moment in the spotlight. The show was renewed for a third season and Canada’s SRC.
