Singapore – BBC World has launched embedded broadband-quality news video clips on BBC.com within the text page instead of launching on a separate player to drive usage of news videos. The enhanced service also offers pre-roll advertising opportunities outside of the UK from which it draws 29million unique users each month, with half of the visitors using its news pages. The website offer 30 international news reports daily and hourly one-minute World News summaries that are available on demand, at a click of the ‘watch’ icons at BBC.com/news. Global Brands Allianz and Shell were exclusive launch advertising partners, sponsoring the news video clips across BBC.com on April 17 and 18, 2008, the first two days of the new service. Supporting the new service’s launch is a trade marketing campaign which includes a microsite at www.bbcreachingmillions.com
