Kuala Lumpur – The ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2008 to be held in Kuala Lumpur from March 10-13, 2008, will be themed ‘Progression to Digital and Mobile Services’ to address the transition to digital services and serving new audiences through mobile broadcasting. Workshops focusing on niche implementation-related issues will run parallel to the main conference. Broadcasting equipment manufacturers, system integrators, service providers and other sections of the industry are supporting the symposium and 18 workshops. An exhibition spread over 20 booths featuring broadcast equipment and information on industry services will also support the symposium. In addition, Sony and Panasonic will launch their new series of HDTV equipment at the symposium on March 11 and 13 respectively. Funding support has enabled the ABU to assist 45 regional broadcasters to participate in the symposium.
