Singapore – ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) has renewed a multi-year exclusive agreement with England’s football governing body, The Football Association (The FA), for broadcast rights to The FA Cup, England Internationals and The FA Community Shield on multimedia platforms for the 2008/9 – 2011/12 seasons. England Internationals include all Senior and Under-21 England Team home matches which total 21 and 20 marches respectively, in the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship qualifiers and all friendly matches. Matches will be broadcast to 20 Asian markets including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Myanmar, North Korea, Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam. This is the first time ESS will also have exclusive rights to use the content on digital media platforms including websites www.espnstar.com, www.espnstar.com.cn and www.espnstar.com.tw, as well as mobile services mobileESPN and soon-to-be launched STAR Sports Mobile.
