Sydney– CNBC is continuing to boost its presence in Australia, launching two new programs on Oct. 2, both fronted by its new recruit, Oriel Morrison, a business news journalist whose CV includes stints with the Nine Network, Sky News, Channel 7 and Bloomberg. The new shows are Trading Matters (Monday-Thursday 5 pm Sydney time) and Australia This Week (Friday 5 pm). Trading Matters will provide Australian investors with a daily, half-hour digest of the day’s business headlines, a comprehensive wrap of the trading day and advice on maximising investments. The program will screen on CNBC’s Asia Pacific feed. Australia This Week will feature a summary of the key events that shaped the week – the deals, the market, the policy decisions, the data – in a 30-minute wrap. Further boosting coverage, Australian Business News Updates will air at the top and the bottom of the business day hour, and there will be an Australian business news headlines ticker and a new website www.cnbc.com.au. CNBC Australia now broadcasts from a new facility in the heart of Sydney’s financial district.
