Singapore- The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore has named Rear Admiral (RADM) Ronnie Tay as CEO, effective Nov. 19 2007. He replaces Chan Yeng Kit, who served as CEO since January 2005. Tay was formerly Chief of Navy with the Singapore Armed Forces, where he led the naval force to adopt new technologies and fighting doctrines. As CEO, Chan led the development of the Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) master-plan and saw Singapore’s infocomm industry grow to a record S$45.4 billion ($US29.8 billion) in revenue in 2006. He will return to the Administrative Service for another posting after attending the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.
