Singapore – Manu Sawhney has been promoted to Managing Director, ESPN STAR Sports, succeeding Jamie Davis, who has resigned. Company says Davis will continue to serve as a consultant to ensure a seamless leadership transition. Appointment was announced by Russell Wolff, Managing Director, ESPN International and Paul Aiello, Chief Executive Officer STAR. The ESPN STAR Sports board expressed confidence that under Manu’s leadership and with the company’s strong management team, ESPN STAR Sports will continue to grow. Sawhney joined ESPN STAR Sports in 1996 as a Marketing Manager and was promoted to MD from Executive Vice President of Programming and Marketing. Commenting on Davis’ departure, Wolff and Aiello said, “Over the past two years, Jamie has dedicated himself to the growth of the company and has worked tirelessly towards strengthening our powerful ESPN and STAR Sports brands across the region. Under his leadership the company has achieved unprecedented financial growth and launched new mobile, broadband and television services. We thank Jamie for his contribution and wish him all the best.”
