Kuala Lumpur- Philippines-based Solar Entertainment Corporation has extended its service agreement with MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. and transferred services from MEASAT-1 to MEASAT-3 satellite to expand distribution of its channels into international markets in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. Solar channels have been distributed via MEASAT-1 since 2004 and more than 600 cable head-ends currently receive the channels in the Philippines. Solar’s cable network brands include Solar Sports, sports channel tailored for Filipino sports fans; Basketball TV, a 24-hour channel showcasing only basketball games from NBA, FIBA, NBA Euroleaque, US NCAA and WNBA; ETC offers popular foreign entertainment shows such as the Today Show, Jay Leno and Saturday Night live; Jack TV targets the youths, seeking adventure and thrills; CS (Crime and Suspense) provides programming in the crime and investigation genre; 2nd avenue is an extension of ETC but targets sophisticated viewers with shows including ELLEN and Sex and the City; RPN Pare!
