Sydney: A second series of the Nine Network’s hit drama Sea Patrol and the third season of ABC-TV’s popular children’s drama Blue Water High have secured funding from Film Finance Corporation Australia. The FFC also approved investment in Carla Cametti PD, a crime series with a young Italian female as the lead character, for multicultural broadcaster SBS and SBS Sales; Nine Network telemovie Scorched, set five years from now when, after 600 days without rain, Sydney has run out of water and the city is then engulfed by fire; The Cut, a 6 x 60 comedy drama exploring the soft underbelly of professional sport through a family-owned sports management company run by a colourful patriarch, for ABC-TV and Target Entertainment; and The Informant, a telemovie about an enigmatic guy who works for Australia’s CIB, for Network Ten. Scorched is backed by Granada International, the NSW Film & Television Office, Sunday Night Movies and the Australian Film Commission.
