Sydney/ Hong Kong- MTV Australia today launched  MTV Overdrive (mtv.com.au/overdrive), a comprehensive online video on-demand music and entertainment service.   This means the broadband service is now available in 11 countries, joining Canada, Germany, Italy, Holland, France, Denmark, Sweden, Brazil, the UK and the US.  MTV Overdrive offers users MTV news updates, artist interviews, music videos, live music performances and original short-form programming.

MTV Overdrive’s Oz launch is timed to co-incide with the Australian Video Music Awards on April 29. Visitors to the website in Australia will be able to watch exclusive online footage of artists such as Fergie and Pink. Most videos on the advertiser-supported service will last from 30 seconds to three minutes.  The channel will also stream to 3G mobile phone services through local carriers.
