Tokyo- NHK WORLD TV has increased Video-on-Demand (VOD) from 13 to 27 programmes. The number of NHK WORLD VOD users has more than doubled since June last year, and many have written in to ask for more titles. Cannes– Studio 100 Media has secured a Home Video and VOD deal with Svensk Filmindustri for Studio 100’s revived CGI series Heidi. The animation is already airing successfully across Scandinavia on NRK Super in Norway and on MTV3’s kids channel Juniori in Finland and will go on air in Sweden later this year on SVT Barnkanlen. Dish TV launches offline VOD
Dish TV, an Indian pay-TV giant, is launching a simplified VOD service that works without needing access to the Internet. Dish TV will download 15 films a month (one every two days) in a ratio of 70/30 in favour of Hindi/English-language movies. The usual pause, rewind/replay, fast-forward benefits would be available.
