Singapore – MTV announced Đông Nhi is the Best Southeast Asia Act winner for the 2016 MTV EMA, which will be broadcast live around the globe from the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands on MTV and MTV LIVE HD. The Best Local Act winners were selected by fans, who have voted on the MTV’s EMA website. Fans voted for Đông Nhi from Vietnam, who received the highest number of votes to beat the competition, which included Bunkface (Malaysia), Gentle Bones (Singapore), Raisa (Indonesia), Sarah Geronimo (Philippines), Thaitanium (Thailand), and Yuna (Malaysia).
“I have just heard the wonderful news, and I am so happy to have won the 2016 MTV EMA Best Southeast Asia Act. It is an unforgettable moment in my career. Thank you to MTV, my fans and supporters! I call it a dream come true – for me, my team, my fans and the Vietnamese music industry.
