Midnight Sun debuts at MIPCOM

StudioCanal will be launching the Swedish-French drama, Midnight Sun, at MIPCOM 2016.

LondonMidnight Sun, created by Mårlind & Stein, is a high concept thriller set in a small mining community in remote northern Sweden where a series of brutal murders conceal a secret conspiracy. Based on an idea by Henrik Jansson-Schweizer and Patrick Nebout, the eight-part series stars French actress Leïla Bekhti and Gustaf, and is produced by Atlantique Productions and Nice Drama for CANAL+ and SVT. Due to air later this year on CANAL+ and SVT, the series received the Audience Award at Series Mania in Paris this April.

Actors Leïla Bekhti, Gustaf Hammarsten and Sofia Jannok, alongside creators Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein, and producers Olivier Bibas and Stefan Baron, will be in Cannes to officially launch Midnight Sun to international buyers at a press conference in the Blue Lounge at the Press Club.
