Singapore – Animated series Rob the Robot, which debuted on 28 November, has already become a hit with Disney Junior viewers in three territories in the region. Leslie Lee, Director, Programming, Walt Disney Television Southeast Asia, told TV ASIA Plus that although it has only been two weeks since the launch of the series, “In Malaysia, we’re a number nine show, in the Philippines a number five show and in Singapore, we’re are a top three show”. The 52×11 minute pre-school series follows the adventures of Rob The Robot and his friends as they explore the fantastical planets of the Robot Galaxy which are ripe with humour and fun. A co-production between Singapore-based One Animation and Canada-based Amberwood Entertainment, the brand is expanding into games and books, with a new iPad/iPhone game application launching in 2012. Production on season 2 begins in early 2012.
